Kate Garraway’s husband in dramatic reaction after nurses turn on GMB to hear wife

Kate’s husband Derek has been in hospital for almost three months now after contracting coronavirus earlier this year. The GMB presenter’s spouse was left in a coma as a result of the virus but Kate shared positive news last week when she revealed he’d opened his eyes after almost 10 weeks in the induced state. Today, she shared another update on his wellbeing, speaking to Ben Shephard on the ITV show.

Kate began as she candidly opened up: “Derek had quite a tough week last week,

“And I think that’s one of the things we’re all having to face when you decide to come out of lockdown, go back to work, do the things that we have to do for society and yourself to get on with your life.

“It doesn’t actually make problems go away, no matter what challenges you’re facing.

“He did have a tough week, he had two big falls in blood pressure, which were worrying staff.”
