Kelly Clarkson looks near tears as she covers Toni Braxton's Another Sad Love Song as she battles ex Brandon in divorce

KELLY Clarkson looks on the edge of an emotional breakdown as she covers Another Sad Love Song during her nasty divorce from ex Brandon Blackstock.

The sentimental cover took place on The Kelly Clarkson show today when the international star drew from real-life experience to add emotion to her performance.

In a segment of Kellyoke, a portion of the show where Kelly, 38, sings for her audience, the celebrity brought some 90's love ballad flair.

As the American Idol star belted out Another Sad Love Song by Toni Braxton, she appeared close to tears.

There was no joy and only sadness in her expression as she rounded out thenotes from the classic R&B track.

Kelly has been waging war through her divorce with her ex Brandon after only seven years of marriage.

Brandon, 44, began as the singer's music manager when they first met at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.

After their relationship took a romantic twist they were engaged in 2012 and married just a year later.

Kelly filed for divorce on June 4, 2020, citing "irreconcilable differences," after she accused the agent of “defrauding her out of millions."

Just one month before, the star's ex-father-in-law Narvel Blackstock, and his Starstruck Management, claimed Kelly owed them $1.4million from her earnings on The Voice.

The vocalist refuted the allegation, countering that Brandon and his father were a “fraudulent and subterfuge device” to perform “illegal services” as managers.

Although Kelly asked for joint physical and legal custody of their children, daughter River Rose, five, and son Remington Alexander, four, she won primary as she and Brandon have a "difficult time" with co-parenting.

The famed entertainer has found herself publicly in tears somewhat frequently in the past few months, once letting her emotions fly during a Garth Brooks performance on The Kelly Clarkson show.

As Garth began to sing The Dance, a song about a break-up, Kelly covered her face with her sweater as she attempted to hide her emotions.

Garth stopped the song to laugh and exclaim: "Oh, don't do that!"

Kelly quickly apologized energetically: "I'm sorry, I can't believe my life!" then adding how she's been listening to the country singer since childhood.

The song-writer also had a tearful moment during the season finale of The Voice last month.

After Kelly's contestant DeSz gave an outstanding performance of the song Holy Ground, the celebrity broke down in tears and clarified: "I needed that song. I know you needed that song."

Through her shaking voice she hinted to having a hard time personally, as she added: "It's such a beautiful thing.

"I know it's for the finale and everything, but everybody needs that message right now.

"You're hands down the greatest vocalist I've ever worked with on this show. You're crazy talented.

"I'm so proud to get to be your coach."

Kelly sobbed twice more during the finale while DeSz rehearsed her cover of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide, and once again when the up-and-comer wowed the judges with her live performance later on.

As Kelly's divorce battle rages on, she seeks to retrieve the earnings she feels are rightfully hers.
