Little Mix The Search was meant to air episode eight, the semi-final of the competition tonight as the girl group’s search for the next global singing sensation continued. However, the last-minute press conference featuring Prime Minister Boris Johnson from Number 10 Downing Street took their spot, meaning the show has been taken off air.

Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson were going to be back on screens tonight.

Alongside them, Chris Ramsey was set to present the semi-final which would’ve seen the five remaining bands battle it out.

However, a last-minute press conference held by the leader of the Conservative Party has replaced the popular singing show.

It comes after Boris Johnson has announced he will dress the nation immediately.

He will be seen alongside England’s chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty and chief scientific adviser Sir Patrick Vallance.

Number 10 has confirmed the speech from inside Downing Street will take place at 5pm.

This means the BBC have had to shake-up their schedule to allow time for the urgent press conference and any questions which may be asked by journalists afterwards.

Celebrity Mastermind was due to air at 5:35pm and Little Mix The Search was to follow, starting at 6:05pm and run until 7:10pm.

It has been said, tonight’s episode of Little Mix The Search will air next Friday instead, ahead of the final on Saturday.

But, that doesn’t soften the blow for show fans.

Little Mix The Search fans were understandably left fuming by the news and took to Twitter to express their opinions.

One said: “I was looking forward to this all week wtf #LittleMixTheSearch.”

Little Mix The Search is set to air next Friday evening instead.
