Love Island set for return of two past international stars – in huge show shake-up

Love Island is reportedly set for a massive shake-up as two former stars from international versions of the show are gearing up to enter the villa.

The hugely-popular ITV2 dating show has taken the world by storm over the last few years, with spin-offs in Australia and America as well a number of other versions already.

After the success of bringing in Adam Collard during last year, who swooped Paige off her feet and away from Jacques, producers are said to be looking for new ways to cause drama in the villa.

Most recently, reports abound that 2018 star Joe Garrett, who was coupled up with Lucie Donlan on the show, would be entering as a surprise bombshell.

Joe hinted he had news regarding the show when he told his followers to expect some "exciting news" and that it "may involve a certain island".

The star also shared a snap sunning himself by a swimming pool, hinting he's arrived in Cape Town already and is simply waiting for his chance in the villa.

Other rumours suggested short-lived bombshell Arabella Chi would be making a triumphant return to the island.

Instead, a TV source has claimed that two stars from international editions of the show are ready to return.

What's more, reports claim the unnamed pair caused most of the drama on their respective series.

The source told The Sun: “Both of them bed-hopped, bonked and had blistering rows on their seasons of Love Island.

"And neither has a shred of British restraint about them.

“They’re going to create explosive telly, just like they did the first time round," the insider went on.

The source also added that the newcomers are "exactly" what the South African winter edition needs to spice things up and cause fresh drama in the villa.

OK! has contacted ITV for comment.

While bosses appear to be trying their best to blow things up this season, it may not be necessary as a major altercation erupted in the villa Thursday night (January 19).

Following a series of issues between couples, Shaq Muhammad and TV salesman Haris Namani lost their cool.

As the pair squared up to each other in the beginnings of a physical fight, the rest of the islanders stepped in to separate the fiery boys.

As the show ended in the middle of the drama, fans will have to wait and see how the scenes unfold, but tensions continue to simmer between Olivia Hawkins and Zara.

After an awkward game that saw the latter single out Olivia, the brunette ring girl claimed she felt Zara had tried to "humiliate" her.

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
