Love Island viewers spot show change amid windy weather in villa

Love Island fans were quick to spot a change on Wednesday evening’s show in the wake of the windy weather the Islanders have been facing in South Africa.

Producers were reportedly concerned that the strong winds would throw the opening night of the show into chaos, but luckily Maya Jama and the contestants were able to continue filming as planned.

The windy weather became clear on Tuesday night’s episode, however, with viewers calling for the villa furniture to be strapped down.

Discussing the bad weather online, one fan of the show tweeted: "Why can I hear the wind through the screen?" while another added: "Is this Love Island or Wind Island?"

In the wake of the gale force winds, producers of the show appeared to have turned the Islanders mics up for Wednesday night’s episode and popped larger, less discreet wind muffs on the speaking devices – as spotted by viewers.

Pointing it out, someone penned on Twitter: “Who on gods green earth decided on the pompoms on the mic? #LoveIsland”.

Someone else said: "Is that a fuzzy mic on ron???? #LoveIsland," as a third shared: "Ahhh no the size of the microphones this year… the kissing noises are going to be next level disgusting #LoveIsland."

“These microphones are really not very discreet this year are they #LoveIsland,” quipped another.

Despite people’s concerns about the mic picking up people’s kissing noises, some were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t too extreme after Islanders Shaq and Tanya shared a snog in bed.

“pay rise to whoever turned the mics down for their kissing this year. the music over tanya and shaq was too good,” one person said.

After the pair shared a kiss, fans of the show coined the term “team Shayna” as they voiced their support for the new couple.

Someone penned: "Tanya and shaq are growing on me,” as another wrote: “I tried to fight it but I’m team Shayna (Shaq and Tanya) I fear.”

Their romance appears to be short lived though, as newcomers David and Zara caught both Shaq and Tanya’s attention.

David picked Tanya to take on a date, with him going on to brand himself as the potential “man of her dreams”.

Meanwhile, once Zara made it back to the villa after her date with Ron, Shaq seemed to have his head turned as well.

Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
