Martine & Felix reunite in groundbreaking Hollyoaks as she saves him from death

Martine Deveraux (Kelle Bryan) realised that a life without love isn’t one worth living during tonight’s groundbreaking Hollyoaks, and thus she told Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) how she really felt.

That is, after rescuing him from death!

The soap icon had arranged a special birthday barbecue for dad Walter (Trevor A Toussaint), which would become the main focus of Thursday’s (September 9) historic Black to Front episode.

Celeste Faroe (Andrea Ali), knowing how upset Martine was in the wake of Felix’s departure, pulled some strings, which resulted in Felix showing up at the barbecue!

Martine was rendered speechless, ordering him to give her an answer as to why he left her when she needed him the most. At first, Felix kept shtum, keeping Walter’s name out it, but soon enough he outed the patriarch of the Deveraux clan’s big secret.

That wasn’t the only shock in store for Martine, as Felix’s son DeMarcus (Tomi Ade) made an impromptu appearance, confirming that his dad has been staying with him since leaving Hollyoaks.

Feeling betrayed by just about everyone, Martine demanded to be left alone, but when Celeste and Felix refused to comply, she decided to take a boat out of the water for some peace and quiet.

Felix, after some tough love from Celeste, followed Martine in another boat, and before long, the ice between the two thawed.

‘When your dad said you’d be better of without me, I had to ask: “What have I brought to your life besides countless tears?”‘ said Felix, explaining his reasons for leaving.

‘Ever since I was a kid, countless people have told me to let you go so you can live. Fly. And I tried. Please believe me, I tried.

‘But I can’t. Because you make me want to be a better man.’

Martine was touched by his words, but tragedy struck, as DeMarcus showed up on another boat, and his collided with Felix’s, knocking him into the water!

With no sign of Felix in the lake, Martine put herself at risk to rescue the love of her life.

Without so much as a second thought, she bravely dove into the water, and dragged Felix to safety.

Knowing that she couldn’t live without him, Martine professed her feelings for Felix, and the two shared a passionate kiss, much to the delight of all those in attendance at the barbecue.

No, you’re crying.

The special hour-long edition of the serial drama, which puts Black talent in the spotlight, plays a pivotal role in Channel 4’s Black to Front diversity day tomorrow, when it re-airs on the broadcaster.
