My dad is a huge singer who’s sold 140m records but I’m a firefighter | The Sun
SAM Springsteen has carved his own path away from his father Bruce's rock-star lifestyle.
The New Jersey resident's father, affectionately dubbed The Boss by his legions of loyal fans, is famed for hits Dancing in the Dark, Glory Days and, of course, Born in the USA.
Yet music was not in Sam's calling – nor was a spot in Bruce's iconic E Street Band.
Instead, Sam chose a career as a firefighter, being sworn into the emergency services in 2020.
At the time Sam, now 29, was one of 15 new New Jersey firefighters being sworn in at the state's City Hall.
After graduating from the Monmouth County Fire Academy in 2014, he served with his hometown Colts Neck Fire Department, the Long Branch Fire Department and the North Wildwood Fire Department.

Sam's mum, Patti Scialfa, who has been married to Bruce since 1991, called her lad: “Our family hero.”
“We’re very proud,” the Boss told reporters at the ceremony, adding, “We’re just excited for him today.”
Previously Bruce's former manager Mike Appel revealed how The Rising hitmaker told him that Sam was “straight-laced."
Mike added: “Bruce was good with that. He’s live and let live."

Sam now juggles his firefighter job with being a dad, after welcoming a baby daughter last summer.
Meanwhile, his old man Beruce has won 20 Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and an Academy Award.
He recently postponed the rest of his tour with the E Street Band until 2024 while he continues to recover from peptic ulcer disease.
Bruce is also proud parent to daughter Jessica Springsteen.
Jessica, 31, his second child with Patti, made her Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020.
She has shunned music in favour of horse riding, opting for a career in showjumping instead.
Jessica previously told US publication PEOPLE: "I've been so grateful that my parents have supported me throughout my career."
Meanwhile Bruce's other son Evan Springsteen, 33, works as a program director and host for Sirius XM satellite radio.
