Paul Burrell breaks down after having a ‘wobble’ in ITV’s The Real Full Monty
Paul Burrell becomes emotional during rehearsals
Paul Burrell was overcome with emotion during rehearsals for ITV’s The Real Full Monty. On Tuesday night, viewers tuned in to the second half of the show where the celebrities were learning their dance routine.
The likes of Pete Wicks, Gemma Collins and Ashley Cain all got to work learning the moves ahead of performing to a live audience. However, former royal butler Paul was having some issues.
Stepping aside, he watched the other stars that he’d be dancing alongside and became overwhelmed. It wasn’t long before the 65-year-old started to cry.
Speaking to the camera, he said: “I’m having a wobble. I’m stood in the wings watching the guys do it and they were all so brilliant. I’m thinking, ‘Oh I can’t be as good as that.’ I want everybody to be proud.”
Realising Paul was getting overcome with emotion, Coleen Nolan, Victoria Ekanoye and Sherrie Hewson came over to console him. Trying to compose himself, he confessed: “I’m just having a bad time. I’ve been here every session and I still can’t get it right.”

Giving him a stern word, Sherrie said: “Listen to me, you just stop this now!”
As Coleen questioned what was really wrong with him, Paul explained more in-depth how he was feeling.
He revealed: “It’s like being at a party and you’re outside looking through the window. That’s how I feel.”
Coleen replied: “We’re all going on this together and whether you can dance or whether you can’t you bring so much to this.

“Everyone will be championing you, they’re not expecting you to come out as Fred Astaire or Ashley Banjo.”
Off camera, choreographer Ashely expressed his concern for Paul as he admitted the 65-year-old has been finding the whole experience hard.
He confessed: “Up until this point, he’s never let us down and never given up so we’ve got to hope he keeps pushing.”
Away from the dance rehearsals, Paul was seen back at home with his husband Graham Cooper discussing the process of Full Monty.
His partner admitted Paul’s confidence has been growing since starting his journey on the show as he applauded his commitment.
Paul said: “You know how it’s affected me, I’ve cried all the way through this. I want to be strong because when people see this, they will see people get through this.”
Last year, Paul was diagnosed with prostate cancer although after undergoing radiotherapy he’s now been given the all-clear.
The Real Full Monty is available to watch on ITVX.
