Richard E Grant reveals he's attending his wife Joan's funeral today with heartbreaking post six days after her death

ACTOR Richard E Grant has posted a heartbreaking tribute to his late wife Joan revealing it is her funeral today.

The Oscar-nominated star, 64, spoke about the vows they made on their wedding day back in 1986.

He wrote, tagging in their daughter Olivia: "35 years ago we pledged ‘In Sickness and in Health’.

"That Time has come for us today, as @OliviaGranted & I and our friends gather for the funeral of my beloved wife, Joan. The depth of our sorrow mirrored by the magnitude of our love."

He followed the post, which included two pictures of Joan, with seven love hearts and three broken heart emojis.

Sharing the sad news about his wife's death on Friday, Richard wrote: "ONLY YOU! Joan – Love of my Life & Giver of Life to our daughter Olivia.

"Our hearts are broken with the loss of your Life last night. 35 years married & 38 together."

"To be truly known and seen by you, is your immeasurable gift. Do not forget us, sweet Monkee-mine."

The actor accompanied the moving tribute with a video of him dancing with Joan.

It is not yet clear how Joan, who was a dialect coach, died.

Richard married Joan in 1986 after meeting her when she taught an accent session at an acting school in December 1982.

The couple have a daughter Olivia together and Richard is also stepdad to Joan's son Tom from a previous relationship.
