Romeo spooked by shock arrival at Rayne Fest in Hollyoaks as he spirals
Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) spirals out of control in Hollyoaks as he struggles to come to terms with the death of Rayne Royce (Jemma Donovan), with a special memorial to the influencer set to end in disaster.
Rayne, as fans of the Channel 4 soap will know, was murdered last month during her extravagant party at a posh mansion, with one of the attendees thought to be culprit.
The social media star’s secrets and lies were exposed in a truly explosive fashion during the bash, meaning that everyone in attendance had a reason to exact deadly revenge.
Brent (Jesse Fox), Rayne’s ex who was thought to have taken his own life, was prime suspect for a while, with upcoming scenes set to see him confess to the crime after he’s attacked.
His mum Cheryl, however, reckons that Romeo is the culprit, believing his sudden disappearance, not to mention the fact that he deleted all of his socials, is proof of his guilt.
James (Gregory Finnegan) has been determined to track his son down and upcoming scenes will see Romeo return to the village, with a special tribute to Rayne, titled #RayneFest, scheduled to take place.
The event brings to the village a plethora of Rayne’s fans, who are keen to pay tribute to the late influencer. It also brings Rayne’s mum to the village, and she’s determined to give Romeo a chance to prove how much he loved her daughter.
Romeo, however, is still struggling and a technical glitch on the big day proves difficult, riling him up in the wrong way as he lashes out – with it all being caught on a live stream!
Will this add further fuel to the fire for those who reckon Romeo is Rayne’s killer? That remains to be seen.
Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), meanwhile, is also present for the event but just how will she factor in?
‘It was a weird one to film, the Raynefest!,’ actress Ruby O’Donnell told Metro.co.uk. ‘Because, obviously Rayne’s dead, so it was like “is this a funeral? Is this a celebration?”
It felt like a party, but then it also felt like a funeral. It was very confusing, especially for the grieving characters like Romeo.
