Sheridan Smith teases Two Pints could come back a decade after final episode

Sheridan Smith said it would be “brilliant” if there was a reunion show for Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, where she starred as Janet in the long running British sitcom.

Starring in the show from 2001 to 2011, Sheridan played a bakery worker among the group of friends who often spent a night down the pub.

The show had nine seasons overall and will be 20 years old this year, leading to the interview question about her interest in coming back.

She said to Metro: “I mean that would be brilliant, Gavin and Stacey did their special which I thought was brilliant, we might end up getting the Two Pints gang back together, I certainly wouldn’t rule that out one day if everyone’s schedules worked out."

Sheridan starred on the show alongside Will Mellor, Ralf Little, Kathryn Drysdale and Natalie Casey and spoke about how close they were as a cast.

she said: “It was a great part of my life, and I guess most people have their university years where they go away and do that but our Two Pints days were like the university years.

“We all got really close – we were in it for nine years so it was a big part of my life. Definitely don’t rule out that there would be a reunion one day, although it would be weird because we are all so much older.

“It would be quite funny to see where Janet ended up. She’d probably have about 20 kids or something, still in the pub!”

While there’s no official word on a reunion episode, the recent success of the Friends reunion episode could open the doors for similar productions.

Since the release, the friends reunion had over 5.3 million views when it aired, breaking records for Sky One and has since become the most watched show for the channel in over two years due to recorded and downloaded viewing numbers.

Sheridan currently works with NOW reading stories in a series called “sleep stories” where she speaks softly as she reads a book to you to help you get to sleep.
