Shirley foreshadows Mick's exit as she issues warning about Janine in EastEnders

We’ve known for ages that eventually, Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) in EastEnders will have to end up choosing between Linda (Kellie Bright) and Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).

Throughout tonight’s episode, Mick was worried about his relationship as Janine cancelled the wedding plans and headed to the hospital on her own, following the news she suffered a partial placental abruption during her fall.

As Janine was told her baby is okay, Linda sensed something wasn’t quite right with Mick.

After a chat, he had an idea.

While Mick planned his public proposal, Janine was in the café with Sonia (Natalie Cassidy), telling her that the wedding is off, and her relationship had absolutely come to an end.

Which didn’t last long.

Back in the pub, Mick proposed in front of the crowd and Janine happily accepted.

As things got quieter, Mick thanked Linda for the support and the kind gift of the framed baby scan.

Just as Linda left, Shirley was there to snap him back into reality, asking Mick whether he really wants to be with Janine or get back with Linda, fully aware if he doesn’t choose, disaster is on the way.

As both Danny and Charlie’s exits loom and new pictures revealing what’s ahead over the festive period and new year, we can safely say Shirley is correct – something’s coming, and it’s not going to end well.
