Strictly rich list reveals surprise stars enjoying £1m payday – as savvy pros invest in property & Goop-style brands | The Sun

IT’S the Strictly friendship which just keeps on giving – and the bromance between Anton du Beke and Giovanni Pernice has proved quite a cash cow.

The unlikely duo have become two of the show’s surprise super earners, bagging a reported £1million on the back of a string of projects together, from sellout stage tours to TV travelogues.

Last month the BBC announced the stars would be travelling around Spain in a follow-up to their hit debut series Anton & Giovanni’s Adventures in Sicily, which saw them explore the island where the Italian hunk was born.

The money they are making from their sidelines now dwarfs the salary they earn from their roles on the primetime BBC show.

But they’re not the only professionals who are dancing all the way to the bank.

While the Strictly pros reportedly earn between £35,000 and £50,000 for the show, they can cash in with the Live arena tour and the pro tour, banking up to £35,000 for each, as well as lucrative cruises and private ventures.

Anton du Beke – £2m

As well as bumping up his pay packet from a professional dancer’s fee to a judge’s salary of £200,000, Anton’s tours with Giovanni rake in a mint.

The 57-year-old, who was a professional on Strictly from its inception in 2004 before taking over as judge in 2021, also presented Hole in the Wall in 2009.

His net worth is estimated at £2million – including the beautiful Buckinghamshire home he shares with wife Hannah and their five-year-old twins, George and Henrietta.

He has written six works of fiction – The Buckingham Series, with his latest work to be published in October.

A six-figure advance seems likely from publisher Bonnier, with Anton netting 10 per cent of the cover price for each hardback sold.

He also trademarked his name to sell a huge range of products – including computer games, clothes, DVDs, CDs, ringtones, as well as education and tuition, although the trademark lapsed three years ago.

Anton’s 19TH Hole Productions, which leases real estate properties, was set up in 2021 and is co-run and co-owned with wife Hannah. They reported £207,245 in assets as at March 2022.

Giovanni Pernice – £500,000

The Italian stallion, 33, has danced on the show since 2015 and two years ago he won the nation’s heart, and the trophy, when he partnered EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis to victory.

Away from Strictly he has embarked on his second TV adventure with pal Anton, heading to Spain to film earlier this year.

The pair have toured in the shows Him and Me since 2021, and recently announced a new show Anton and Giovanni: Together for next year.

This year Giovanni also toured without his showbiz buddy in Made In Italy and announced he would be taking part in the Dancing With The Stars Weekends at dance school Donaheys.

In June, Giovanni founded lifestyle brand GP Vita, with plans to sell “cosmetic and toilet articles in specialised stores”.

He also runs GP Entertainment, set up in 2017, holding £483,000 in assets as at latest accounts and £365,794 after bills as of 30 April 2022.

Oti Mabuse – £1.4m

Oti danced on Strictly for seven series and lifted the coveted Glitterball Trophy twice before leaving in 2022.

She went on to land roles as a judge on The Masked Dancer and on Dancing on Ice.

Last year the South African dancer signed a lucrative deal to collaborate with Bravissimo on a “confidence boosting” underwear range.

The 33-year-old has notched up £1.4m in visible earnings since joining Strictly in 2015.

She shares a £590,000 London mansion with her husband, Romanian dancer Marius Lepure, which they bought in 2019, and holds £750,000 of assets in four private companies, which the couple co-own.

The biggest money-spinner so far is her entertainment business, Pure Mabuse Entertainment, which held £541,082 at latest count.

The property firm, Lionshead, has no bricks and mortar purchases logged with the Land Registry as yet, but has notched up £110,582 in assets.

Her performing arts firm held £97,841 at latest count and a fourth company Dancesport Education was set-up earlier this year.

In addition, Oti has 672k followers on Instagram and can earn around £3,000 per Instagram post, as well as streaming revenue from her popular YouTube account.

She recently signed a deal to write two picture books and is expecting her first child.

Janette Manrara and Aljaz Škorjanec – £1.3m

Former Strictly pros Janette and Aljaz joined the show together in 2013 and tied the knot four years later.

Janette quit Strictly in 2021 after landing the job as presenter on sister show It Takes Two and is also a regular presenter on BBC's Morning Live.

Aljaz announced his departure after dancing with Dragons' Den star Sara Davies in the series, later the same year.

Before the birth of baby Lyra in July, the couple had annual sellout shows and often joined the Strictly Cruises run by P&O ferries, said to earn each dancer around £15,000 per week.

They have also signed up to appear at the Donaheys Dancing With The Stars weekends in 2024.

The couple’s company, Artistry Thru Dance, was set up in 2015 to curate their TV earnings and has allowed them to pocket £537,790 on top of 2022 earnings.

Latest figures, signed off by the couple this month, report £493,241 in assets held by the pair – including £347,796 worth of cash.

After allowing for bills they retained £264,078 in the firm, which appears to pay them a salary of £150,000 each – based on employee taxes reported as being owed.

On top of 2022’s earnings the pair have also pocketed £537,790 in visible earnings from their company.

In 2021 Aljaz set up a second business – Adnap Creative, a performing arts firm of which he owns around half, but they are yet to file accounts.

James and Ola Jordan – £3.5m

James and Ola danced on the show from series four, in 2006, with Ola waltzing her way to victory three years later. James was first to exit, after the 2013 season, and Ola jumped ship two years later.

James appeared in Celebrity Big Brother, coming third in 2014, and returning for the all star version three years later, and put his moves to good use by winning Dancing on Ice in 2019.

Ola took part in I’m A Celebrity in 2016, and was third to leave the jungle. She also posed for racy shots for a series of calendars, until 2018, and in March she joined Karen and Janette in the Freemans ad.

The pair are also cashing in on their weight loss, after piling on the pounds following the birth of daughter Ella, now three, and have set up a fitness brand called Dance Shred, which costs £12.99 a month to subscribe.

Earlier this year the couple sold their £2.5m five-bedroom mansion near Sevenoaks, Kent, saying the swimming pool cost too much to heat, and downsized to a smaller property “more suited” to toddler Ella.

The pair have notched up £1mn in visible earnings, excluding property interests, with their company James and Ola Dance Academy, which they set-up in 2008. Despite its name, the main earnings come from ‘public figures and promotions’.

The firm holds £774,023 in assets at latest count, with profits at £465,002 after bills. Their pay reported last year included £60,000 in dividends.

Alongside their TV appearances and live shows they rake in extra earnings online, offering signed photos for £9.50, and dance lessons from Ola at £300 – currently a sold-out item.

They are also available for “corporate functions, charity events, general demonstrations and weddings, anniversaries or birthdays” – according to the website.

The couple also have Jopp, a property firm set-up in 2012 but yet to trade.

Kevin Clifton – £400k

Since leaving Strictly in 2020, after winning the trophy and the heart of dance partner Stacey Dooley, Kevin has become a musical star, performing in Rock of Ages, War of the Worlds and Strictly Ballroom, directed by judge Craig Revel Horwood.

He recently announced he will star as drag queen Loco Chanelle in the 2024 touring production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Before their split in 2018, Kevin and ex-wife Karen Hauer Clifton were setting up their own dance school, but the company closed in 2020, without trading.

Kevin's own company, Supreme Dance, was set up in 2019 and makes around £50,000 a year in profits.

Latest figures reported £104,993 in assets, £42,234 retained after bills.

Karen Hauer – £400,000

Karen is the longest serving current pro, having joined in 2009. She also dances on the Strictly pro tour and is involved in the Donaheys Dancing With The Stars weekends.

During lockdown Karen also posted home workouts on her YouTube channel.

Karen’s net worth runs out at £400,000 – about the same as ex-husband Kevin.

Like her ex, she lost potential future earnings when their dance school folded, but she has one business, Principal Dancers, which was initially co-owned with Kevin but has been her sole property since 2019.

At the latest count it held £139,339 in assets, with her firm's net worth whittled down to £67,615 after allowing for bills.
