The Chase's studio audience started to boo Mark Labbett during Saturday's repeat episode when one of his fiery one-liners hit a bum note.

Originally airing in 2019, the episode saw Anton Du Beke, Alistair McGowan, Sarah-Jane Crawford and Adrian Edmondson face The Beast in the hopes of winning money for charities of their choice.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Anton was the first in the hot seat, making a satisfactory £4,000 in the cash builder round before turning to Mark.

Mark tried his best to rattle Anton's nerves and poked fun at his career on Strictly – pointing out he's never won the Glitterball Trophy, despite appearing on the show since its inception.

"This will be just like Strictly Come Dancing," Mark jibed, referring to the competition ahead. "You haven't won that either."

Anton looked wounded, as the studio audience collectively started booing Mark, letting him know he'd crossed a line with the joke.

Thankfully, Anton managed to prove Mark wrong, and he sailed through to the final with the middle offer of £4,000 in his kitty.

Earlier in the show, Anton opened up about landing his role on Strictly, recalling his first-ever meeting with BBC bosses back in the noughties.

"The BBC decided to make this new show and we did a screen test and they wanted us to do Strictly Come Dancing and everything sort of changed," he said.

Clearly a fan of Strictly, Bradley explained: "I like seeing the ones who've never danced before."

"Oh I've had a few of them," joked Anton.

Anton then tried to persuade Bradley to join the line-up of the upcoming series, with BBC bosses recruiting a wide array of names for the show throughout the year.

"You should have a go," he suggested, only for Bradley to joke he was "too good" to compete in the competition.
