When Daisy took to the stage before being unmasked as Kelis, the judges once again were given the chance to guess who was under the costume. Host Joel Dommett asked judges Jonathan, Davina McCall, Donny Osmond and Rita Ora to share their thoughts and the guesses ranged from Fleur East to Alyssa Milano. But it was Jonathan’s guess which outraged viewers.
He said the Daisy could be Natalie Cole, who was the daughter of Nat King Cole, after the singing flower sang one of his song’s Unforgettable.
Fans were shocked by Jonathan’s guess as Natalie passed away in 2015 at the age of 65.
Not only did Jonathan guess the dead celebrity but ITV also used a graphic of the star to show each judge’s guess.
Unsurprisingly, viewers were quick to air their frustration on Twitter.

“Natalie Cole is dead Jonathan! @wossy #TheMaskedSinger,” one viewer shared.
Another added: “@wossy thinks Natalie Cole is under the mask, shouldn’t someone tell him she’s dead? Oooops a daisy lol.”
A third continued: “Yikes… Did no-one from production realise that Natalie Cole passed away in 2015?
“I mean, the show’s not even live. Massive fail.”
Someone else wrote: I mean Natalie Cole is dead so I highly doubt it’s her.”
Daisy was unmasked at the end of the show as Kelis, leaving both judges and viewers stunned.
Speaking after her unmasking, she said keeping the secret about her identity was “pretty hard”.
“There’s so many things you don’t think about,” she explained.

“And I think especially for people, you know, who are used to everything being based on people knowing who you are, it’s totally a different thing.
“So that’s kind of the fun part I guess.”
Asked by Joel why she signed up the show, Kelis remarked: “Well people have just been telling me my voice was distinct my whole career, you know, so I was like, ‘Let’s see how distance it is.’”
Only Rita had correctly guessed it was Kelis under the Daisy mask.
