Two couples who were engaged on Love Is Blind season 2 were cut by Netflix

The newest episodes of Love Is Blind season two follow six couples who got engaged from the social experiment in the pods.

But, it turns out there were actually eight couples who got engaged, and two were cut from the Netflix show.

The popular dating show features a series of singletons trying to find love and make meaningful connections. The only catch is they can’t see the person they’re falling for until they’ve popped the question and said yes.

After seeing each other for the first time, the couples then move in together and walk down the aisle in a matter of weeks, while fans are left waiting till the final episode to see if they really will say ‘I do.’

So far viewers have seen Shaina sabotage Shayne and Natalie, spotted Shake’s red flags, and are waiting to see which couple will be the next Lauren and Cameron.

But what we haven’t known about is the two other couples who found love but not fame: Caitlin McKee, 31, and Joey Miller, 30, and Kara Williams, 32, and Jason Beaumont, 31.

While they were spotted in the first episode for notable moments including Joey’s insecurity of his grey hair and Kara’s comment on not feeling like she came off as ‘wifey material’ because of her ‘blond hair [and] big boobs’, these couples were left in the background during the rest of the season.

Revealing herself on Instagram, Caitlin said: ‘What a whirlwind the last few days have been since @loveisblindnetflix season 2 has premiered! Watching the couples meet in the pods, fall in love and experience their first reveal transported me right back to that place.

‘What you didn’t see is that I also found love in the pods and left the show with a fiancé.

‘@millerj5001 and I had an amazing summer and fall with the opportunity to travel, meet each other’s families, and build a genuine relationship without the cameras and crew.’

Caitlin said that while they chose to go their ‘separate ways recently’, they have chosen to ‘remain friends’, adding: ‘He will always hold a special place in my heart.’

She also said that she would be ‘forever grateful’ for her experience, writing: ‘I made genuine connections with friends that will be in my life forever, laughed harder than I have in years, cried more than I probably should have, but most importantly I learned a heck of a lot about myself and who I am and want to be as a person.

‘Take chances, love hard, and live your life without regrets!’ she added..

Commenting under the series of sweet pics, her Love Is Blind co-star Deepti Vempati, who was included on the Netflix show, added: ‘I admire your strength so much, love you both.’

Meanwhile, Joey also shared some romantic snaps on his Instagram, explaining the story from his point of view.

‘We vibed from first pod date, got WAY deep WAY fast, surprised each other with Drumsticks/tacos/Tequila/Bieber serenades, got engaged without ever seeing each other, and had an amazing summer and fall together without all the cameras,’ he wrote.

‘Grateful to @loveisblindnetflix for introducing me to such a strong, caring, and compassionate woman. We are no longer together, but absolutely fell in love blindly.’

Joey said that it was a ‘much more meaningful experience’ than many viewers may realise.

‘100% focus dedicated to finding out who I am, what I need in a life partner, and what I can provide to a lifelong relationship. All day, every day, 10 days,’ he said.

‘For a guy who spends most of his time striving at work or chasing travel experiences, learning how to connect in this way was ultimately one of the best things I’ve ever done.’

Caitlin and Joey weren’t the only ones to share their secret success on Instagram, as Jason (who was engaged to Kara but unfortunately also split up recently) said: ‘SURPRISE! kara_williams & I walked out of the pods an engaged couple as well!

‘Kara, has been one of the most charismatic, loving, & supportive people I’ve ever met, she is hands down one of the strongest women I’ve ever been around.’

Jason wrote that it was the ‘best feeling’ when he saw Kara on the red carpet, saying that it gives him ‘goosebumps just thinking about how beautiful she looked’.

‘This entire experience was such an emotional rollercoaster for both of us, but at the end of the day we always found a way to make each other laugh,’ he said.

He added: ‘Unfortunately, we have since parted ways, but that will never take away the feelings & love I had for her throughout this process. Although our relationship was not featured, it was still authentic.’

Joey explained how in the 10 days they spent in the pods, he and Kara had conversations that ‘had never even come up in my prevoius long term relationships’.

He recalled how ‘nervous’ he was for the first two days, and how he felt ‘afraid to be vulnerable’.

‘Kara found a way to knock that wall down for me & be myself which became the turning point for me in this entire experiment,’ he wrote.

‘Being a part of Love Is Blind has been the most rewarding, & meaningful experiences I’ve ever had. Regardless to how it may come across to all viewers, I’m beyond grateful for everyone that’s been apart of my journey, & can’t wait to watch my close friends continue to grow on theirs.’

According to Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen, viewers were left in the dark about these couples because there wasn’t enough time or resources.

‘You only have so many crews and so much budget and so much time,’ he said.

‘It would be amazing to follow everybody, but you just have to decide what feels like a good group to follow.’

The same thing occurred in season one of the show – six couples honeymooned in Mexico, but only two were left from the show: Rory Newbrough and Danielle Drouin, and Westley Baer and Lexie Skipper.

The pods seem to be working better than we could have ever thought!

Love Is Blind season two is available to stream on Netflix now.
