Vikings fans are simply dying to see the return of the History and Amazon Prime Video show later this year.
With San Diego Comic Con just around the corner, the die-hard viewers will surely receive their first taste of season six in the coming days.
The first five seasons of the epic show have been met with incredible praise, and have even garnered a number of awards throughout the journey.
Ranging from incredible awards such as Outstanding Special Visual Effects and Outstanding Hairstyling for a Single-Camera Series, the series has been nominated for an Emmy in every season so far.
Until now, that is, as season five has not been nominated for any awards.
This snub means it is the first year the show has not been nominated for an Emmy since its original air.
Luckily Vikings isn’t down and out just yet, as the upcoming sixth season is looking to be its biggest and best yet.
Due to arrive sometime later this year, the sixth and final season is due to bring an end to the ongoing feud between Ivar the Boneless (played by Alexander Hogh Andersen) and his brother, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig).
The conclusion to this war will bring an end to the timeline of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his legacy, which is what kickstarted the show, after all.
Season six will also presumably dive into the next step for Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick).

Lagertha was last seen declaring her son Bjorn as King of Kattegat.
However the trailers for season six so far have shown Lagertha suiting up for battle.
Lagertha jumping into war once again could be the end of the incredible matriarch, as predicted by a number of fans.
To make matters worse for the former queen, a supposedly leaked image of her dead on a pyre was recently posted online, leaving fans a little stunned.
Lagertha is the longest running character on the show, and some fans were a little upset she would supposedly be getting killed off in the final season.
But other fans were ready to see the righteous end of her reign, as one wrote on Reddit: “I always loved Lagertha but tbh this is overdue. I hope her death will be handled well.”
Meanwhile, many viewers are also predicting one of Ragnar’s sons will be the one to kill Lagertha.
One fan wrote: “I just wanna see which son does it now.”
While another predicted: “It’s probably Björn though, maybe in a very angsty way. Like to spare her from suffering or else.”
Vikings season six is expected to return to History Channel and Amazon Prime Video this year.
