From a medical student to a post office worker, meet this year's amateur sewing fanatics…
Who are the Great British Sewing Bee contestants 2021?
Adam, from Leicester, has been sewing since the age of six after he was taught by his Nan, aged 6.
He is a cruise ship entertainment director and loves nautical styles and fabrics, and is inspired by classic films and iconic entertainers.
Adeena from Birmingham loves combining her Pakistani heritage with British style.
She is a Student Engagement Office and loves to sew for herself and her sisters who have often been "guinea pigs" for her creations.
Andrew is a maths teacher from Hull.
He was inspired to sew as a small boy from watching his mum and grandmother.
Andrew makes vestments for his partner, who is a priest.
Cathryn works part time in a post office in Yorkshire.
She is a passionate music lover and a big fan of David Bowie in particular.
She has been sewing for over 50 years and likes to use old scraps of fabrics to create new pieces.
Damien is an IT Installation Engineer from Bolton.
He taught himself to sew three years ago when a pair of his work trousers needed altering.
Damien describes his style as "practical".
Farie works as an accountant in Dunstable.
She began to sew at school when she studied Fabrics and Fashion during her GCSEs.
She now enjoys making colourful outfits for her two young daughters.
Jean from County Down works as an Art Psychotherapist.
She uses art to help children, teenagers and adults through difficult life experiences.
Jean is one of seven siblings with an identical twin, she learnt to sew as a child. Now she sews for herself and partner Jo.
Julie is a former dancer who currently works at a Beauty Therapist in Rotherham.
Julie’s makes her own bold and daring clothes.
She has even sewn prize-winning dresses for Ladies’ Day at the races.
Lawratu is a local authority officer from Surrey.
She is inspired by her West African heritage and loves vivid, bold prints.
She tarted making her own clothes after she didn’t like the fit of items in shops and is an active member of her local Women’s Institute.
As a textile assistant, Raphael has dyed cloth for high-profile movies but only got into sewing during lockdown.
A self-taught, sewer, he focuses mainly on making stylish menswear for himself.
Rebecca works as a Customer Assistant at her local supermarket in Scunthorpe.
She studied textiles at A-Level and now makes clothes to relieve stress.
Rebecca admits she has "a habit for not reading the instructions and just ploughing through".
Serena is originally from Glasgow but has moved to Edinburgh to study medicine.
She learnt to sew from YouTube and loves sustainable style.
She loves to "refresh" charity shop garments and create her own unique garments.
