It\u2019s good news for fans of David Metcalfe in Emmerdale, as actor Matthew Wolfenden has confirmed that his exit will not result in a tragic death.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Metro.co.uk at the CUREUsher ball, Matthew revealed that there is every possibility for David to return to the village in the future.<\/p>\n
\u2018What I can say is I\u2019m not dying, which is a good thing!\u2019 He told us.<\/p>\n
\u2018I don\u2019t die, so maybe David will come back in a few years.\u2019<\/p>\n
Matthew admitted that there wasn\u2019t much he could say about David\u2019s exit, but teased that there would be \u2018tears and fights\u2019, and that the current situation with son Jacob (Joe Warren-Plant) and ex Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).<\/p>\n

Recently, Emmerdale viewers have seen Victoria and Jacob share a moment which almost resulted in them kissing, before being interrupted at a crucial moment by David.<\/p>\n
Though David still believes he has a chance with Victoria, could heartbreak lead to his exit from the village?<\/p>\n
\u2018That relationship with Jacob and Victoria is a huge reason why David eventually leaves the village.\u2019<\/p>\n
Consider us very intrigued.<\/p>\n
We were able to catch up with Matthew at the CUREUsher ball, organised by Emmerdale stars Laura Norton and Mark Jordon, who played Kerry Wyatt and Daz Spencer respectively.<\/p>\n
Laura and Mark\u2019s children have both been diagnosed with Usher syndrome \u2013 a rare condition which\u00a0causes deafness or hearing loss, and an eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Sometimes, it also causes problems with balance.<\/p>\n
\u2018When we first got the diagnosis, we had never heart of it,\u2019 Mark told us at the event. \u2018None of our friends or family had \u2013 we have learnt as we have went along, it\u2019s a very rare condition and unique disease.<\/p>\n
\u2018Our idea with CUREUsher is to make that change, try and raise as much awareness. We have a platform and we will do everything we can.\u2019<\/p>\n
