Pink signed her first-ever record deal just a few weeks after having a near-death experience as a teenager.<\/p>\n

The So What star has been selling out stadiums across the US as part of her Summer Carnival Tour, although was forced to cancel some dates.<\/p>\n

The singer had to axe three dates in a month in Tacoma and Washington due to \u201cfamily medical issues\u201d and a third in Texas due to a \u201cbad sinus infection\u201d.<\/p>\n

As the 44-year-old continues to promote her tour, Pink recently revealed she almost died when she was just 16.<\/p>\n

What made the time even more memorable was that the incident took place just weeks prior to her signing her first record deal.<\/p>\n

In an interview with 60 Minutes\u2019 Cecilia Vega, Pink explained: \u201cThanksgiving 1995, I was at a rave and I overdosed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was on ecstasy, angel dust, crystal, all kinds of things and then I was out, done, too much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vega stated: \u201cYou almost died\u201d, with Pink simply replying: \u201cYeah\u201d.<\/p>\n

She said how she \u201cgot into drugs, I was selling drugs and then I was kicked out of the house\u201d, when she was 16.<\/p>\n

\u201cI dropped out of high school. I was off the rails.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pink recalled stopping using drugs after the incident and just weeks later, she signed a record deal with LaFace Records as a member of a girl group.<\/p>\n

In a bid to change up her image, Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, was sent to etiquette classes by the label.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey wanted me to learn how to wear dresses and use the right fork,” Pink said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went once but it didn\u2019t work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, the group didn\u2019t work out with Pink releasing her first solo album Can\u2019t Take Me Home in 2001 which went double platinum.<\/p>\n
