Jeremy Vine films Jason Donovan’s close encounter with bus

Jeremy Vine has addressed claims that he was the reason why Jason Donavan came close to being hit by a bus while on his bike in London on Tuesday night.

The presenter took to Twitter (X) to share footage of his exchange with the former Neighbours star, as they stopped at some traffic lights followed by what could have been an accident.

In the clip, the pair briefly chatted before Jason rode off slightly ahead of Jeremy and found himself in a compromising position, inches away from the bus.

Shared with his 788,000 followers, BBC Radio 2 presenter Jeremy wrote: “B***y hell. I just saw a bus nearly take out Jason Donovan.”

Many social media users have since claimed the near-crash was Jeremy’s fault, for allegedly distracting the Neighbours star.

One wrote: “All caused by… YOU… Mr Vine you’ve distracted Jason not only by attempting to talk to him but as Jason has mentioned that thing on your helmet.

“The lesson to be learnt here is concentrate on the road around you and try not to distract other cyclists.”

In response, Jeremy simply wrote: “Oh!”

Another accused the pair of jumping a red light and “endagering the safety of a vulnerable pedestrian”.

He hit back writing: “We were stationary, fellah.”
