A FORMER noughties star who couldn't go 20 minutes without drinking alcohol in the past, is now 20 months sober and has a completely different career as an author. <\/p>\n
The singer, now 45, shot to fame in 1997 with the hit song\u00a0I Can Make You Feel Good.<\/p>\n

Anthony Kavanagh \u2013 took to X\/Twitter to share news of his 20 months sobriety with his 32.6k followers.<\/p>\n
In the past, the former popstar couldn't go 20 minutes without a drink, so he's grateful to be sober now.<\/p>\n
Anthony has previously talked candidly about his issues with alcohol. <\/p>\n
He was admitted to rehab in 2017.<\/p>\n
The former musician tweeted: "20 months sober. I couldn\u2019t get 20 mins without a drink so to say I\u2019m grateful is an understatement…<\/p>\n

Fans rushed to congratulate him on his achievement. <\/p>\n
One penned: \u201cWell done Kav! You're doing so well."<\/p>\n

Keep going."<\/p>\n A fifth echoed: "Well done Ant! Keep it up."<\/p>\n Anthony has now left the music industry to pursue a career as an author.<\/p>\n He is currently writing his memoir, Smashed Hits, which will explore the highs of his rapid rise to fame as well as the darker side of the 1990s music industry.<\/p>\n "It's quite therapeutic to write about that time because you get to look back at what happened during that time," Anthony told Brobyn on BBC Sounds.<\/p>\n In a 2014 interview with\u00a0Heat magazine, he revealed how his good friend, the late singer Amy Winehouse, had urged him to sort himself out.<\/p>\n After 1999's Will You Wait For Me, Kavana's solo career was finished.<\/p>\n However, he took the decision to relocate to the United States, where he appeared in a number of commercials and an MTV show.<\/p>\n After that Anthony landed a publishing deal and became a songwriter. <\/p>\n Kavana disappeared from the public eye before re-emerging in 2014 as part of the second series of ITV2's The Big Reunion.<\/p>\nThe Walking Dead star diagnosed with stage 4 cancer<\/h3>\n
