Abbey Clancys rarely-seen sister Elle engaged in sweetest proposal
Abbey Clancy’s little sister Elle has got engaged to her boyfriend.
The 26 year old hair stylist announced the news with a sweet social media post on Thursday, 7 December. She uploaded a series of pictures to her Instagram account to show the moment her boyfriend, Scott, popped the question.
One image showed how romantic Scott had led her to a room decorated with candles, balloons and a path made of rose petals that ran towards a bottle of fizz on a pedestal and giant letters spelling out MARRY ME. Another showed Elle covering her mouth with her hand in shock as the pair sipped on some bubbly.
A third showed the pair kissing in an excited embrace and a fourth saw Elle and Scott posing in front of a Christmas tree – with the hair stylist showing off her impressive engagement ring.
Alongside the pictures, Elle wrote: “I SAID YES !!!!! This week I became the happiest girl in the world !!!!! My gorgeous FIANCÉ. I LOVE YOU.”
Her friends and followers were quick to respond to the post with their well wishes. Denise Van Outen wrote: “OMG! Congratulations.”
TOWIE star Shelby Tribble added: “Congratulations beautiful, soooo happy for you.” Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts said: “Aww congrats!”
The engagement announcement comes after Abbey previously told how her husband – former England footballer Peter Crouch – said he tried to talk Elle's boyfriend out of proposing.
Speaking on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, the 37-year-old model spoke of how she had helped Elle plan her wedding ready for when Scott popped the question. However, Peter confessed he had warned Scott about doing so because of the ‘power shift’ that happens when a couple gets married.
Abbey said: “Me and Elle, we have gone from the ring, we've done the dress, we've done bridesmaids, we've also done the table decorations."
She added: “It's only the venue we haven't sorted, but we've got a few in mind and Elle was like, ‘This is great, when he asks me to marry him we can get married two days later because the whole thing's sorted’.”
Abbey went on: “'Pete is like ‘I don't think it's going to be happening for a while’ and I am like, ‘why’, and he went, ‘I've talked him out of it’, I was like ‘what!'
She added: “That's what you said, ‘I've told Scott everything changes when you get engaged and you lose your power’.”
Peter said: “There's a big power shift, I will be honest with you. You go from holding all the cards to holding none. You get married and then you lose all the power and then it's like you can't go out with your mates anymore, you can't do this anymore and anything you enjoyed, is gone."
He added: “Change is coming, it does unfortunately happen. He needs to be aware of that. I just think he needs to be aware of all the scenarios and of course, he is lucky to have her.”
