Adele changes selfie policy for residency as she is hanging on for dear life
Adele, 35, has been in Las Vegas most of the year with her Weekends With Adele residency, and fans have flocked from around the world to see her.
However, despite its success, Adele has made the decision to stop having close-up selfies with fans due to her fears of catching Covid.
The Hello hitmaker has stopped performing in her usual section beside fans after a viral outbreak of Covid in Caesars Palace.
Adele became worried when her friends and crew started “dropping like flies”.
Sharing the news with her adoring fans, Adele said: “Normally I would absolutely stop and chat and all of that and hear all about your life and be the nosey person that I am.

“However, I am hanging on by a thread trying not to get COVID.”
She then shared how her backing singer Amanda was forced to miss performances due to having a positive Covid test.
Adele continued: “Everyone that I know that I work with has f**king COVID, so it’s a miracle that I haven’t had it yet.
“And I really do love chatting to you, but I don’t want to get sick, I’ll take selfies from a distance or shoot your vid.
“I might have symptoms and then I can’t do my show and I will be damned if I cancel any more of these shows. I refuse to cancel any shows.

“I just can’t risk getting ill. Honestly, my immune system is in the gutter and I want to be close to you and stuff like that, but I just can’t risk it. I am a germaphobe, so I might be being dramatic. But they all have COVID.
“But I use hand gel a lot. Like If I meet someone, I’m like, ‘Hi, it’s so nice to meet you.’ And then there’s hand gel in my hand.
“I’ve always been like that, but just wanted to let you know I am hanging on for dear f**king life to play for you guys.
“I got the flu in my last break two days after my final show, and I was thrilled. I don’t mind getting the flu during my break. I don’t mind getting sick during my break.
“I have got nine weeks left. This is my 26th weekend. It was my 50th show last Saturday, which felt like such a milestone.”
Remembering her earlier cancellation of the Vegas residency Adele then quipped: “Because, dunno if you heard, but like a year and a half ago, I had to cancel the first leg. So getting to 50 was like a dream. So I’m so thrilled.”
The singer had faced fierce backlash after the residency was canceled with less than 24 hours to go before it began.
She took to social media to share a tearful statement about the cancellation and said delivery delays and the coronavirus meant they couldn’t make it work.
Following the success of her first residency, Adele announced her second which is due to end in November. It has been reported there are talks to bring her back for a third round.
