Michelle Dockery marries Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s brother Jasper in London – seven years after her fiancé John Dineen tragically died of cancer aged just 34

Beaming with happiness, Michelle Dockery married boyfriend Jasper Waller-Bridge today, surrounded by her Downton Abbey co-stars.
The actress, who played Lady Mary Crawley in the ITV period drama, couldn’t stop smiling as she left a London church, hand-in-hand with Waller-Bridge, the younger brother of Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Dressed in an understated white satin gown, Ms Dockery, 41, chatted to guests including Lily James, Joanne Froggatt and Laura Carmichael following the 45 minute service a St Nicholas’ church in Chiswick, West London, at midday.
She and Mr Waller-Bridge, 35, a former talent agent for the likes of Holly Willoughby, Amanda Holden and Ant and Dec, were joined by the groom’s sister Phoebe – who had a giant diamond ring on her engagement finger – and her partner Martin McDonagh.
Dressed in a stunning coral three-piece suit, Ms Waller-Bridge led the guests on a walk from the nearby George and Devonshire pub where they had gathered for a pre-wedding drink.

As well as being Ms Dockery’s big day, it was also a reunion for the cast of ITV’s Downton who were last seen together in the 2022 movie which came after six television series. As well as Ms James, Ms Froggatt and Ms Carmichael, Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Lesley Manville and Lesley Nicol – the actress who played Mrs Patmore.
The show’s creator Julian Fellowes, 74, was also on the guest list along with is wife Emma Joy Kitchener – a former Lady-in-Waiting.
Imelda Staunton, who played Maud Bagshaw, was also in attendance as were Allen Leech who portrayed Tom Branson and Jim Carter – who starred as head butler Carson.
Also spotted amongst the guests was Happy Valley star James Norton It was a poignant day for Ms Dockery who was left heartbroken in 2015 when her fiancé, Irish publicist John Dineen, died following a 15-month battle against a rare form of cancer aged 34.
The couple 2013 and he proposed just under two years later but the pair never made it down the aisle. However, in a rare interview in 2017 Ms Dockery told how she still considered herself to be a widow.
The Mail on Sunday first revealed that Ms Dockery had found love for the first time following his passing after they met through mutual friends in 2019 and soon after they spent time together at the Rome film festival.
Ms Dockery was understood to be friends with her new husband’s older sister, and the two stars crossed paths when they both spent time in Los Angeles over the summer.
In January 2022 she and Mr Waller-Bridge announced they were to married in an announcement in The Times newspaper.

Ms Dockery, who grew up in Romford, Essex, is the daughter of Lorraine, a care home assistant from Stepney, East London and Michael Dockery, a surveyor from Athlone, Ireland.
Mr Waller-Bridge was born and raised in West London by his mother Teresa and father Michael, now married to the designer Rosemary Goodenough.
Ms Dockery has been nominated for three consecutive Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
