Emmerdales Bear actor Joshua Richards reveals unlikely connection to EastEnders Eve actress Heather Peace
He may be part of rival soap Emmerdale, but actor Joshua Richards has a close tie to EastEnders – he's pals with Heather Peace, who plays struck-off lawyer Eve on the show.
"We did a performance of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea at Hull Truck Theatre together a few years ago," he revealed to Inside Soap.
The star went on to add that he's glad to see his friend "doing so well" on EastEnders, gushing that she's a "lovely girl and a very fine actress".
When probed about the possibility of a soap crossover being on the cards, Joshua joked: "A violent lawyer and a soft-as-butter wrestler? I think they would be great mates."
Joshua joined the cast of Emmerdale back in 2019 as bearded wrestler Bear Wolf, the estranged father of Paddy. The character soon established a life in the Dales, forming friendships with some of the older villagers such as Mary.
But Joshua has also made it big in Hollywood, and in 2004 he played the character Haemon in the critically acclaimed film Troy. In 2017, the actor took on the role of Sir Kay in another Hollywood hit, King Arthur: Excalibur Rising.
Joshua has also appeared in a variety of television series over the years, taking on roles in shows such as Downton Abbey, Heartbeat and The New Adventures Of Robin Hood.
Meanwhile, 48-year-old Heather also has a well-established acting career – working in theatre, film and TV for over 25 years. Appearing as Stacey's sham wife Eve Unwin in EastEnders' for the first time in 2021, she made a dramatic entrance when she punched Zack, assuming that he was Stacey's ex Martin.
The actress has also dipped her toes over at Coronation Street, where she took on the role of Ali. Ali was a member of the mountain rescue team who was called to assist with the rescue of Liam during a visit to the Lake District in January 2008.
Alongside the soaps, she's starred in The Bill, Dangerfield, Thunder Road, London's Burning and The Devil's Tattoo.
Heather recently shared a glimpse into her life away from the screen – revealing she's actually a secret rock star.
As well as playing the guitar, the star is classically trained on the piano and has always loved music. In 2011, the mum-of-three reignited her passion and embarked on a UK sell-out tour and produced an acoustic album of covers combined with some original songs.
