Hannah Spearritt on confrontation after reconciling with ex Paul Cattermole

S Club 7's Hannah Spearritt talks about split from Paul Cattermole

Hannah Spearritt has shared details about her on-and-off relationship with her late S Club bandmate, Paul Cattermole.

She’s laid bare all the details in her new autobiography, Facing The Music, which is set to be released on Thursday, the same day her former bandmates are set to open their reunion tour.

In excerpts from the book published in The Sun, Hannah, 46, shared that when the band went on their first reunion tour in 2015 she grew close to her former lover and bandmate Paul Cattermole, despite her having a long-term boyfriend.

Writing in her book, she said: “It got messy very quickly after the tour. Paul came back to my house, and we’d taken this picture of the two of us smiling in the sunshine.”

Speaking about what happened next, she wrote: “Adam saw the photo come up on an iPad we shared, and so it all got a little bit confrontational.

“Adam made his presence known, Paul left, and I didn’t really hear from him after that, which was a little bit difficult for me to understand, if I’m honest.”

She also said that the encounter meant that her and Adam, who she’s currently in a relationship with, didn’t speak for a while.

Hannah dated Paul from 2001 until 2006 and she’s recently opened up about how she blamed herself after he died, fearing that he had taken his own life after news of a mediation session they had attended together was leaked to the press.

Paul, 46, was found dead at his home in Dorset just seven weeks after S Club 7 announced their plans for a comeback tour to celebrate their 25-year anniversary.

The post-mortem revealed that he had died from natural causes after suffering a variety of heart problems.

After his death Hannah claimed that she “couldn’t stop crying” and made the decision to step away from the band and withdraw from the tour.

Formed in the late 1990’s, S Club 7 were known for their party hits, including Bring It All Back, S Club Party and Don’t Stop Movin.

The rest of the band, which includes Jo O’Meara, 44, Jon Lee, 41, Rachel Stevens, 45, Tina Barrett, 46, and Bradley McIntosh, 41 have decided to continue with the tour, which will be called the Good Times tour in honour of Paul. Paul sang lead vocals on the band’s 2001 hit of the same name.
