Inside Kelsey Grammer’s 10,000-square-foot Bel-Air home
Frasier actor Kelsey Grammer and his ex-wife, Camile once lived in this stunning 10,000-square-foot Tudor-style home in Bel-Air, California, that once belonged to composer Henry Manicini. The couple called it “Henry’s house”.
Grammer is best known for his role as Dr. Frasier Crane on the NBC sitcom Cheers, which ran from 1982 to 1993. When it ended, Frasier got a spinoff show that ran from 1993 to 2004.
Grammer’s role of Frasier is one of the longest-running roles played by a single actor in US television history. A reboot of the hit sitcom is coming to Paramount+ on October 12.
Grammer is no longer married to his second wife, Real Housewives star Camilla Grammer. He is now married to former airline attendant Kayte Walsh, who he has been married to since 2011, and shares three children with.
But back in the days of his marriage to dancer and Playboy model, whom he married in 1997 and divorced in 2011, Grammer spoke with AD about their home.

“When I found out the Mancini house was available, I had a longing to spruce it up,” Grammar told Architectural Digest.
Grammer’s relationship with Mancini goes back to 1978 before the actor, who had landed a few small roles, got his big break in Hollywood. He recalls spotting Mancini, one of his heroes, in front of the John Golden Theater in New York City. Grammer was too shy to introduce himself, but the two would meet years later anyway at Frank Sinatra’s 75th-birthday party. The two have a friendly relationship. Grammer even got Mancini to make a cameo on Cheers.
Both Kelsey and his wife, Camile, who is a designer herself, were committed to maintaining “Henry’s home,” which proved at times to be challenging because it has a “quirky” layout. For example, the master bedroom lives on the first floor with “hallways running into hallways and rooms into rooms” in the words of home designer Kenneth Alpert.
Alpert added: “We wanted to make the house understandable.”

“I think of houses as having their own personality,” Kelsey told AD. “I think it’s important to approach a house in a way that’s reflective of the original environment. Maybe I’m a sentimentality, but I think that certain geographies call out for certain architecture.”
The home had a country lane charm with ceiling beams, and all the main rooms overlook the lush courtyard and swimming pool.
The favorite family hangout spot was a screening room with swiveling chairs, carved out of the massive living room. The couple shared that they loved to have guests over to watch movies together.
Camile mentioned during the interview that she cherished her bathroom, which features a shower tiled in handpicked blue onyx.
The couple also preserved an entire chunk of the wall where Mancini’s original sheet music was mounted. Kelsey said it weighs a couple hundred pounds but “it looks really cool.”
