Kylie Minogue is fed up with people asking about her love life
Kylie Minogue says she wants people to ‘move on’ and stop asking questions about her love life after ending her five-year romance with Paul Solomons
Kylie Minogue wishes people would ‘accept’ her relationship status as she revealed that she is fed up with people asking about her love life.
The pop star, 55, believes that the keen interest in her personal life is down to ‘people loving a bit of gossip’.
The Spinning Around hitmaker is currently single after a five-year romance with magazine chief Paul Solomons, 48, ended earlier this year.
Speaking to Vogue Australia, Kylie said: ‘There’s a level of acceptance that that’s the way it is, and I think mostly it’s driven by, we all love a bit of gossip.
‘It’s kind of like, what would’ve happened over the fence forever ago. But it would be great to move on from the “she’s lucky in love, she’s unlucky in love”, because it’s just not that simple.’

Kylie and Paul had been in a long distance relationship since she moved back to Melbourne in 2021.
She added: ‘I wonder if a lot of that started with the fact that I was “Scott and Charlene” or “Kylie and Jason”. It seems slightly disproportionate to me, where [public interest] is disproportionate to the other stuff that you do.’
The Padam Padam songstress is currently preparing to kick start her Las Vegas residency next month and said her life is ‘pretty go, go, go, it’s just extra’ at the minute.
It comes after Kylie hit back at claims that she should dress more age-appropriately by vowing she’ll never tone down her racy outfits.
Talking to The Sun the Brit award-winning singer confessed: ‘I’m not going down to Tesco’s in thigh boots and a catsuit, but in Popland that is me.’
Kylie’s most recent hit Padam Padam was crowned the song of the summer, after she donned a red catsuit and PVC thigh boots for the music video.
Talking about the wardrobe choice behind the video she admitted it was daring and she pushed herself out of her comfort zone, ‘Don’t get me wrong. Even I have to go “What? A red catsuit? OK, I will try it”.’
Fed up: The pop star, 55, believes that the keen interest in her personal life is down to ‘people loving a bit of gossip’
Kylie told Vogue Australia: ‘There’s a level of acceptance that that’s the way it is, and I think mostly it’s driven by, we all love a bit of gossip. But it would be great to move on from the “she’s lucky in love, she’s unlucky in love”, because it’s just not that simple’
The hitmaker discussed how she just wants to be herself and doesn’t even think about being sexy.
And her fans are lapping up the latest music, as she became the first woman over 50 in years to be playlisted by Radio 1 after her summer hit went viral on social media and climbed the charts.
Padam Padam went on to become Kylie’s biggest hit since 2010’s All The Lovers as it reached number eight in the charts.
Talking about her latest album Tension, the star posed the question of what age she should stop presenting as ‘sexy’?
The star confessed that in the five years since she was 50 to 55 she has seen in a difference in how people view sexy and ageism and that she believes now people are more accepting.
Kylie discussed how the younger generation are more accepting and spend less time thinking about ageist constraints which has allowed the star to experiment more with her style.
The singer isn’t slowing down and in 2020 she became the first female artist in history to top the UK album chart over five consecutive decades.
Her latest record Tension marks her 16th album and the star will be taking the new songs to the fans soon as she plans a 2024 tour.
