Lorainne Kelly ‘beyond chuffed’ at incredible achievement shared with Mary, Queen of Scots
Lorraine Kelly has said she is "beyond chuffed" to be featured in a new book all about inspirational Scottish women.
The 63-year-old presenter is named in the book called Spectacular Scottish Women , among icons like Annie Lennox and Mary, Queen of Scots.
She shared the news with her fans on Instagram, posting a video of her opening the book in excitement. Speaking over the video, Lorraine, who has been a daytime TV regular for decades, said: "That's amazing, so happy to be included in this, this is just great."
She then went on to thank the author Louise Baillie who wrote the book and illustrator Eilidh Muldoon. In her caption, she added: "OMG – beyond chuffed to be included in this fabulous book! What an honour! Thank you @florisbooks @DiscoverKelpies."
Fans commented, congratulating Lorraine on the achievement, with one posting: "Wow that's faby Lorraine, history in the making xx"
Another added: "Spectacular and Scottish you fit the bill!" While a third said: "That's so cool! So you should be chuffed with that!" and another commented: "How wonderful!! And very well deserved."
A full cartoon portrait of Lorraine was featured in the book, as well as details about her career on the screen. Lorraine's including comes ahead of the release of her own book, The Island Swimmer, which will be released in February next year.
The star has written her first novel, which will be released next year, and fans and friends alike have reacted incredibly positively to Lorraine's new role as an author.
Last month, in September Lorraine took to Instagram to share a video as she showed off the very first copy of her book, she said: "This is a huge day for me because in here is a copy of my very first novel.
"It's set in Orkney, which I love, and it's all about a woman who leaves Orkney when she's a young girl. There's a huge, huge drama, and then she comes back. Why does she come back? And what happens when she's there?"
Friend and colleague, TV doctor Amir Khan said: "Yassss! Cannot wait to finally read it." While GMB's Charlotte Hawkins simply shared a series of applause emojis. Fans have also sent messages of support in the comments section.
Tina said: "Huge congratulations Lorraine" while Denise said: "Look forward to reading that one, sounds intriguing". Jane said: "How exciting! Congratulations".
