Love Island’s Malin Andersson turns to ‘legend’ Supernanny for advice over daughter
Love Island 2016 contestant and mother-of-one Malin Andersson has hailed Supernanny star Jo Frost a "living legend" after revealing how the TV parenting guru helped her with a predicament involving her daughter.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, Malin, 30 – who shares one-year-old daughter Xaya with ex partner Jared – admitted she'd gotten in touch with former TV favourite Jo, 53, over concerns regarding her little girl.
"I had a really in-depth conversation with Jo Frost, Supernanny from back in the day, and she is a living legend," Malin – who was famously dumped from the dating series seven years ago, only to return weeks later to confront ex Terry Walsh for cheating on her – said.
Malin spoke to ex-Channel 4 star Jo – who helped thousands of parents struggling with difficult or misbehaving children on the show between 2004 and 2008 – about the co-parenting situation she shares with Xaya's dad.
"She [Jo] now gives advice on co-parenting, legalities, courts and I've had to speak to her because I'm going through something at the minute with Xaya's dad," she explained.
"Something not very nice which I'm not going to talk about right now. She has been insane in giving me the best advice and so much in-depth care."
Malin and Jared split weeks after baby Xaya was born in February last year.
"I have always prided myself on being open and transparent on here, so I wanted to let you all know that myself and Jared are no longer together," she revealed at the time.
"We split around four weeks ago and I have since been trying to come to terms with everything and process it all. We are co-parenting Xaya as she of course comes first in all of this, but we would appreciate some space as we navigate through this separation."
Other than welcoming her beautiful baby girl, reality favourite Malin has been dealt some difficult cards in recent years, after she lost her beloved mother Consy to cancer in 2017, and in 2019, her month-old daughter, named after her mum, tragically died of health complications at just one month old.
Catching up with OK! last month, Malin revealed there’s still room in her heart for love and that she’s even ready to "find a husband".
"Everybody wants to fall in love, don’t they? I’m ready to meet somebody and I have faith that I will," she told us. "I’ve always wanted to end up with a nice guy.
"Being a single mum is overwhelming. I get really lonely at night. As soon as Xaya goes to bed, I can’t leave the house. I can’t just nip out for a meal or a coffee unless I have a babysitter, and they’re hard to find.
"There have been a lot of times when I’ve cried and wished my mum was there," she added.
