Matt Hancock has opened up about his ‘unpleasant’ experience on Celebrity SAS ahead of the series final.
The former Health minister, 45, has made it to the final five alongside Danielle Lloyd, Gareth Gates, Perri Shakes-Drayton and Teddy Soares.
It makes for his second stint on reality TV after making it to the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! final in 2022.
Hancock has once again gone the length of the competition, due to appear in the seventh and final episode of the reality quasi-military training show in Vietnam this Sunday.
The tough final, which is called INTERROGATION, will see the celebs engage in the last remaining physical and mental test as they feel weak from the show’s onslaught of hardships.

Ahead of the final, the MP opened up about the challenges of filming the show last year.
He said: ‘It was really one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done and a very unpleasant experience.
‘The only way through it was to have the same attitude that I had during the whole course, to just keep sticking around for a few more minutes all the way through, even when the interrogators were trying to rile me.’
In the series finale, titled INTERROGATION, the celebrity recruits have been captured by an elite Hunter Force, deep in the Vietnamese jungle.
They have been stripped of their clothes and belongings and placed in detention in preparation for 14 hours of interrogation techniques – the most gruelling challenge yet.
Matt’s co-star former Miss GB Danielle agreed about the intensity of the experience, telling: ‘That was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Forget about the heights and stuff like that.
‘This was intense. The noises just literally f*** your head up. I’d not eaten, I was wet, it was cold. It was just so hard to try and stay awake and try and stay focused.
‘You’re exhausted physically and you’re exhausted mentally as well. There were so many times throughout that I nearly quit.’

In recent episodes Matt left Celebrity SAS viewers in hysterics as he asked how much paracetamol he was allowed to take – despite his role as Health Secretary in the global pandemic.
He was forced to ask TOWIE star Amber Turner what the maximum dose was, responding with ‘eight’.
But Matt was still confused, asking: ‘Is that the recommended or maximum?’
Viewers were quick to pick up on the irony, with one writing: ‘Oh wow did I just hear right ex health secretary #MattHancock doesn’t know how many painkillers he can take in a day!!’
In another scene on Sunday night’s episode, Matt was interviewed by a Liz Truss lookalike, who blasted his ‘moobs’ and ‘chest pubes’ and said he’s ‘not a good looking guy’.
In the clip he is forced to stand in just his underwear as the interrogator named Debs shouts: ‘You’re a f**king man, aren’t you. You’re a man that likes to put it about a bit, stay on your feet.
‘I’ll tell you something that’s really fascinating me. Really fascinating me, because with all due respect, you’re not a good looking guy, are you?’

Once again, viewers were left gobsmacked at the surprising appearance of the former parliamentary minister.
Speaking of his time on the show, Matt previously said: ‘Being on SAS was like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. It’s one of the toughest physical and mental things I’ve ever done.
‘It really opens your eyes and makes you look into yourself. After coming through the most challenging period as Health Secretary during the pandemic, I wanted to push my limits. It’s safe to say the course tested my resilience!’
The seventh and final episode of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins airs on Sunday 5 November at 9pm on Channel 4.
