Mike Tindall in ‘so much trouble’ after sharing ‘unflattering’ nickname for Prince William
Mike Tindall might be in hot water after spilling the beans on Prince William's funny nickname.
Mike, 45, who is married to Zara, 42, a cousin of Prince William, 41, made the admission during a podcast chat with Rugby League star Rob Burrow.
During their conversation, Rob was curious to know if they had any nicknames for each other or for other members of the Royal Family, including William, Kate, King Charles or Queen Camilla.
Mike shared that he calls Prince William "One Pint Willy" because he's not the best at drinking.
He said: "For the Prince of Wales, he is known as One Pint Willy. He is known to me as One Pint Willy because he is not the best of drinkers, coming from a sport where it is built on the social aspect and a couple of beers being sunk quite often. That is one I will definitely give away for the Prince of Wales."
Zara couldn't help but giggle at her husband's revelation, warning him: "Oh my God. You are in so much trouble."
As for their own nicknames, Mike revealed: "We basically call each other munchkins a lot. I don't know why that started but it has stuck. I will let Zara decide whether she wants to give away what I am down in her phone as.."
During a chat, Zara revealed: "He is in my phone as something else and it ends with kitten." Rob's podcast, Seven, features interviews with sports stars.
In the same podcast, he asked Zara if her uncle King Charles would let him deliver the annual Christmas message. Zara responded: "I definitely think you could do the other Christmas speech. You would definitely rock it and would be a huge inspiration to many people.
"I'm sure he would let you just do your own thing. I hope to see that one time. I think you just record it anyway and send that out there!"
Zara and Mike are known to be close to the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children. Earlier this year, William and Kate appeared on Mike's podcast The Good, The Bad and The Rugby.
On the podcast, Mike revealed Kate's competitive nature, saying: "I'm not going to say you're uber competitive but I've seen her play beer pong!" However, Kate replied: "I'm not competitive at all."
Mike also got them to talk about their competitiveness, especially in tennis. Kate said: "I don't think we've actually been able to finish a game of tennis. It becomes a mental challenge between the two of us," with William agreeing: "It is who can out mental each other."
The Total Sport Podcast, featuring Rob Burrow, is now available for listening on BBC Sounds.
