Olivia Attwood breaks silence on I’m A Celebrity return as she admits it ‘makes my heart hurt’

Olivia Attwood has put herself out of the running for a return to I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this year – despite the 'sheer volume' of fans asking her to return.

The former Love Island star had an incredibly short stint on the show in 2022 after a routine medical test showed concerning low blood pressure causing her to exit the jungle to undergo more tests.

Despite follow-up tests showing she was healthy and able to return – insurers were hesitant to allow her back into camp which resulted in a premature exit from the show.

According to Olivia, 32, she "cried the whole way back from Australia" due to her early exit when talking about the experience earlier this year.

Now, with this year's series just a week away, Olivia has broken her silence on whether she would be returning again and confirmed she would not be taking part in the jungle antics.

In a personal and candid update to her Instagram story, Olivia admitted her swift jungle exit "still makes my heart hurt… and my brain," but felt she needed to confirm her absence due to the amount of fans calling for her return.

Her full statement read: "I wasn't going to talk about anything jungle related because if I'm honest, the way things played out last year still makes my heart hurt… and my brain.

"I have been avoiding Instagram, but the sheer volume of you messaging about the show, commenting, meeting you in person etc I feel like it's wrong not to speak to you guys.

"I couldn't commit to going back this year. It wasn't the right time for me.

"There were many things I had to weigh up, but ultimately the sheer intensity of my schedule doesn't allow for that much time 'out of the office'.

"I read all your messages about the show, your support and love I will never ever take for granted.

"One day I hope when the time is right, we can finish my jungle story… for you guys and for myself."

She shared the updates alongside some shots of her on the show, before sharing a photo of her curled up on a plane and reading this week's copy of OK! Magazine – as well as promising plenty of "tele things" to come.

She added: "Now seems like a good time to let my hair down for a few days. I am burstinggg, screaming, crying at the seamssss to share with you the tele things I have coming."

The celebrity line-up is still yet to be officially confirmed by ITV – but rumours have been rife about this year's campmates.

They vary from First Date's Fred Sirieix, Britney Spear's sister Jamie-Lynn Spears, to This Morning and former Big Brother star Josie Gibson.

Politician Nigel Farage is also rumoured to be a contestant this year, with the controversial former UKIP leader spotted arriving in Australia earlier today.
