Rylan Clark reveals his mother Linda, 71, is recovering well at home as he returns to work at Radio 2 after her horror fall and surgery in Spain
Rylan Clark has revealed his mother Linda is recovering well at home as he returned to his Radio 2 job on Saturday.
Earlier this month Linda, 71, was rushed to hospital and had to have emergency surgery after a horror fall during a holiday in Spain – her first getaway in 10 years.
As a result, Rylan was forced to pull out of his radio presenting gig and replaced by Scott Mills as he cared for his mother, while giving fans updates on her health.
And after flying home via private jet this week, Ryan was back at work and told how his mother is in good spirits and ‘chilling’ at home following her ordeal.
The presenter, 34, also likened the overwhelming support and messages he and Linda received to when someone had died.

Explaining the situation to his listeners, Rylan said: ‘Unfortunately decided to take mummy Linda on holiday… she’s not been away for 10 years. And what (did) she go and do? Falls over and breaks an arm and leg, what (are) you going to do? Classic Linda, classic Linda.
‘Now a little broken arm and a leg, (I) can deal with that but when you take that up with everything else (that) is wrong with her nightmare, especially abroad.
‘But we are both back, mummy Linda is home safe and sound, she is recovering, she’s chilling out.
‘There’s honestly, for want for a better term, I don’t mean this in a rude way, It’s like someone’s died. The amount of people that have been around the house, there’s flowers. It’s all gone on.
‘All the neighbours come out. It was like someone had come home from war.’
Rylan looked in a good mood on Saturday morning as he made his way into the Radio 2 studios.
The former It Takes Two host kept cool in the hot weather in a tan T-shirt and matching cap, which he teamed with blue skinny jeans and black sandals.
During his radio appearance, Rylan thanked Malaga based health care service Helicopteros Sanitarios for transporting his mother home safely.
