A Kind of Guise Opens Its Souvenir Shop for FW23
A Kind of Guise’s seasonal Souvenir Shop is opening for another year, unveiling a new collection that’s inspired by the lands of Iceland. Working in collaboration with the Knitting Association of Iceland, 33 locally hand-knitted pullovers and accessories have been unveiled.
Operating as a seasonal non-profit project, AKOG’s Souvenir Shop pays homage to local cultures while celebrating craftsmanship and their heritage. The umbrella opens to the public twice a year and explores the cultures of a country to draw inspiration for its collections.
Now, the just-unveiled collection of knitwear designs will be available for one run only, with each locally-curated design using wool sourced from an Icelandic sheep called Loci. These fabrications have been used due to their natural and biodegradable properties, whilst their breathable and temperature-regulating qualities allow for the knits to be worn in both warm and cold conditions.
Highlights from the collection come in the form of new beanies and scarves, with each style welcoming a melange of colors, from cobalt blue to crisp white and earthy greens and browns. Additionally, crew neck sweaters are welcomed with a slew of white-panelled detailing, while clean-cut headbands are hit with a selection of zig-zag detailing to round off the collection.
You can take a closer look at the new Souvenir Shop collection from A Kind of Guise above and it’s available to shop now via the official AKOG website, where all proceeds will be donated to Píeta, an Icelandic non-profit organization offering counselling services to those dealing with suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and supporting families who have lost someone to suicide.
