Brand New Porsche 911 Dakar Is Already Up For Auction
As with any highly coveted item that has a limited supply, be it a watch, sneaker, or car, there will always be a dynamic of reselling — which is presumably how this sub 100 mile 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar has ended up at auction via Bring A Trailer.
Limited to 2,500 production units, the Dakar was available by application only and just began delivery this spring. Already, this listing is $33,000 USD above its sticker price from just a few months ago, which needless to say has some enthusiasts and collectors worked up in the comments section of the auction lot.
Nonetheless, the vehicle, marked example 1,191, is a gorgeous understated spec inspired by the Porsche 953’s victory in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally and will likely become a prized addition to its new collector at auction close.
With only 68 miles on the odometer, it’s hopeful that its new owner will take advantage of its twin-turbocharged 3.0L flat-six engine and offroad capabilities. The Darkar’s engine, distributed by an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch, is the very same featured in the Carrera GTS and boasts 473 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.
Additional technical aspects borrowed from other vehicles include a cooling system that’s found in the 911 Turbo and Turbo S and the dynamic engine mounts found in the GT3.
As for exterior styling, this example of the 2023 Darkar features stainless-steel skid plates, a carbon-fiber hood and rear spoiler, black rocker-panel cladding, wheel-arch extensions, lightweight glass and red tow hooks. All of this is sat on top of forged alloy wheels with Pirelli Scorpion A/T knobby tires, a hydraulic lift system for additional ground clearance and power-assisted disc brakes with red-painted calipers.
Inside the cabin, this example of the 2023 Darkar features carbon-fiber bucket seats trimmed in black leather with Race-Tex microfiber inserts and Shade Green stitching. Other features include black brushed aluminum and Shade Green accents, rubber floor mats, forged aluminum pedals, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a PCM touchscreen infotainment system with Bose surround sound.
The 2023 Darkar example 1,191 is open for bidding for the next three days and sits at a highest bid of $256,000 USD at the time of writing.
