Busta Rhymes Looks to the New Generation of Rappers on New LP ‘Blockbusta’
Busta Rhymes has returned with a new studio album, Blockbusta. The LP arrives as his eleventh project overall and the first full-length collection of music since 2020’s Extinction Level Event 2.
Since his last album, Rhymes dropped the 2022 EP, The Fuse Is Lit, a compact, five-song project featuring contributions from Swizz Beatz, Big Daddy Kane, Conway the Machine and more. The year prior, he had also put out a special deluxe version of his 1996 debut LP, The Coming, in honor of its 25th anniversary.
For his latest album, Rhymes didn’t hold back, unveiling 19 new songs over the course of approximately an hour. While the rapper frequently works with some of the old heads of the 1990s and early 2000s, this particular release sees him embrace rap’s new generation of artists.
Among the mix of features is Quavo, BIA, Coi Leray, Blxst, Yung Bleu and Burna Boy. He also tapped the talents of Young Thug and T-Pain.
Rhymes himself executive produced Blockbusta, alongside Beatz, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland.
