CELINE Homme Delivers Alan Vega Tribute Collection for Winter 2023
CELINE Homme has lifted the veil on a limited collaboration with the late American artist Alan Vega, as part of its larger Winter 2023 collection, “Paris Syndrome.”
The capsule dissects modern youth’s rediscovery of the 2000s Electro Clash and Electronic Rock circles, by paying homage to New York City’s Proto-Punk band, Suicide. The group, which was established in 1977 by Vega and Martin Rev, was known for its countercultural approach to music in the ’70s, and the duo continued to flourish intermittently through 2016, before Vega passed away. At CELINE Homme’s FW23 show earlier this year, Suicide’s hit track, “Girl,” soundtracked the runway for what Hypebeast called one of the brand’s “sexiest collections to date.”
The tribute collaboration features hoodies, cardigans and vests plastered with Vega’s Ransom Notes artworks, which included a series of newspaper collages dating back to 1974. The hoodies and sleeveless tops read “Everything Special Deadly Wait Anything But Love Bozos The Wake Of Vicious Sons To Fight It,” while the hand-knitted sweater hosts the following lettering: “Dare Future All-star Stand’it Glory Blaze.”
Celine HOMME’s Alan Vega collaboration is now available to shop in stores and online. Take a closer look at the line in the gallery above.
