ChatGPT’s Factual Accuracy Is Being Improved With Real-Time Internet Browsing
ChatGPT will now be using internet browsing to provide more accurate responses. The feature, simply titled Browsing, was launched in beta just a few weeks ago.
OpenAI has officially brought internet searches to the chatbot. The capabilities hinge on the integration with Bing, the Google competitor owned by ChatGPT’s corporate partner Microsoft.
Previously, ChatGPT left some users frustrated by its out-of-date information. The chatbot was prone to providing answers containing inaccurate details of misinformation, meaning it could never compete with a full-on search engine such as Google.
“ChatGPT can now browse the internet to provide you with current and authoritative information, complete with direct links to sources. It is no longer limited to data before September 2021,” OpenAI wrote on X.
ChatGPT users will no longer have to toggle the “beta” switch to access Browsing, as the feature will be automatically updated on the bot.
