Del Toro and Metalwood Studio's New Collection is Aprés-Golf
When Del Toro announced its partnership with the US Ryder Cup team to be the official off course shoe of captain Zach Johnson’s team, it left people reminiscing on a period around 2013 when the Miami-based brand was impossible to ignore. Fast forward to 2023, and a good pair of loafers has become a must-have item for anyone who follows contemporary fashion, whether it’s dressed up with a sport coat or down with a breezy camp collar shirt. Now, Del Toro is furthering its exploration into the 18 hole sport by teaming up with Metalwood Studio, one of the most innovative brands in golf’s new wave of fashion and lifestyle.
While Del Toro’s custom shoes are reserved for the players competing in Rome, the collaboration with Metalwood is designed to be worn by anyone. It’s a four piece collection that includes a genuine leather shoe bag, a zippered caddie shirt, a cotton tee shirt and an unstructured, six-panel cap.
The first of those items, the shoe bag, is color blocked in off-white and electric blue, and has Del Toro script and Metalwood bubble lettering embossed into the pebble textured leather. The blue caddie shirt, meanwhile, is the most versatile of the pieces featuring two large hip pockets and an open camp collar that give it a laid back confidence with a utilitarian edge. By contrast, the tee shirt leans into the playfulness of Metalwood with a rough sketch-like illustration and a co-branded logo that appears as if it were spontaneously stamped. Finally, the unstructured cap looks gently worn from the start and has opposing logos split by a central seam.
Pricing for the collection ranges between $45 and $130 USD for the apparel, while the shoe bag goes for $300 USD. Interested parties can find the items on either Metalwood or Del Toro‘s websites now.
