Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin Reveal Fifth Collaborative Timepiece
Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux and British luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin have joined forces for the fifth time, to produce a new timepiece dubbed the “Neo Bridges Aston Martin Edition,” a watch that will be limited to 250 examples.
Inspiration for the timepiece was drawn from Aston Martin’s DB12, the world’s first “Super Tourer” car. Notable design features include a skeletonized dial, showcasing all of the watch’s functional components, including some that display subtle co-branding. An even more understated nod to Aston Martin is the accents of emerald green and the luminescent treated hands which pay homage to the automaker’s signature green hue.
The watch is a modern addition to Girard-Perregaux’s Bridges collection, which dates back to 1867 when Constant Girard created a pocket watch with three parallel bridges. The Neo Bridges Aston Martin Edition continues this tradition but with a contemporary twist, showcasing the movement’s components in an inverted configuration.
Patrick Pruniaux, the CEO of Girard-Perregaux shared, “This was not merely a case of putting Aston Martin’s name on one of our watches. They played an active role in the conception of this watch, looking at the materials employed and, interestingly the design of the movement. The Neo Bridges Aston Martin Edition is the impressive outcome of two companies synergistically working together.”
The watch, housed in a 45mm diameter titanium case with black DLC coating, is as previously stated, limited to an edition of 250 pieces and is set to retail for $37,700 USD starting in December via authorized Girard-Perregaux dealers.
In other watch news, Rolex prices fall to two-year lows on the secondary market.
