Heavily pregnant Towie star in horror car crash weeks before birth

A pregnant former The Only Way is Essex star has revealed she’s been left with broken legs and feet after a horror car crash that killed her mother.

Clelia Theodorou, 28, revealed last month that she’d been in a serious accident with her mum, who had been unable to ‘heal’ from her injuries.

The TV personality, who is currently 35 weeks pregnant with her first baby with boyfriend Tommy Cole, has now detailed her ‘painful’ injuries that came from ‘the worst day’ of her life.

In an update posted on social media this week, Clelia shared a series of photos, which showed her in a wheelchair, as well as in hospital in leg braces.

‘My reality – 35 weeks pregnant, two broken legs and two broken feet,’ she wrote.

‘Broke more bones than I even knew you had in your feet and I’ll forever be setting off metal detectors at airports. Three surgeries later, the healing process is going well. It’s a long, slow process but I’m getting there.

‘I still have another surgery to get through and there have been hard some pushbacks, unforeseen delays and a lot of pain along the way but the main thing is our little baby is battling through it with me, keeping me going each day, making me more determined and giving me so much strength, more than I ever I thought I would have in a situation as difficult as this.’

She continued: ‘It would be a dream to be standing, up on my feet before our bundle of joy arrives but I just have to take each day as it comes.

‘Having never broke a bone in my body or experienced anything even close to the pain and discomfort I’ve been through, I’m truly proud of myself and my body for how far I’ve come since that day, the worst day of my life.’

She then expressed her gratitude for her partner, explaining how he had been ‘supportive, loving and understanding’ and had to ‘turn into being my full-time carer’.

‘I couldn’t get through a single day without him. I can’t thank you enough my love for your unconditional care and love,’ she added.

Her post was met with many supportive comments, including some from other former Towie stars.

Georgia Kousoulou wrote: ‘Oh you strong beautiful girl! This baby has been sent down to you.’

‘This baby will bring you so much happiness and unconditional love. You’ve got this,’ Chloe Lewis shared.

Meanwhile Ferne McCann added: ‘Sending you love darling. Your little baby is giving you so much strength.’

When announcing her mother’s death, Clelia shared a black and white snap kissing her mum and wrote: ‘I am continuing to heal from my terrible injuries after weeks in hospital but it’s with the biggest regret to say that my beautiful Mum couldn’t heal from hers.’

‘The person I never, ever wanted to say goodbye too. Who loved me unconditionally, the pure definition of a mother’s love.’

She added: ‘My heart will never heal from this, life will never ever be the same.

‘It just doesn’t feel real and it never will, I just want my mum back.’

Former Miss Great Britain Clelia first appeared on Towie in 2018 as Dan Edgar’s love interest, but she was given the axe three years later.

The Only Way Is Essex is available to watch on ITVX.
