With today’s official start of New York Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2024 season, fashion month is now underway. Before things maneuver to Paris, London and Milan, this year’s NYFW has a range of moments in store including debuts, returns and even newcomer figures.
Some of the most anticipated moments include Peter Do’s Creative Director debut at Helmut Lang, Ralph Lauren’s return to NYFW after staging his recent show in San Marino, California, and Phillip Lim’s return after a three-year hiatus, alongside newcomers like Advisry and Grace Ling.
Although the calendar is missing a few names like Thom Browne and Peter Do’s eponymous label, this NYFW is still sure to be packed full of fashion moments.
Heron Preston Joins H&M As Creative Menswear Advisor

On Wednesday, it was announced that Heron Preston has started a new “long-term partnership” with fashion giant, H&M, as its new Creative Menswear Advisor.
In the role, Preston is set to aid in the creative direction of H&M’s main menswear line alongside producing his own seasonal capsule collections. Additionally, Preston will reside over design advisory, special collections, talent curation and fashion innovation. The range of segments spans the fullest extent of creation, curation, collaborations and even environmentally equitable circularity initiatives.
Heron Preston is set to release his debut 40-piece collection with H&M next year.
Tremaine Emory To Open First Denim Tears Flagship Store in NYC

Tremaine Emory’s widespread success with Denim Tears has led to the announcement of the brand opening its inaugural flagship store in NYC.
In preparation for the brick-and-mortar location, Denim Tears is set to preview its vision with a one-day pop-up shop on Saturday, September 9. The mainstay of the pop-up will be the third installment of its Levi’s collaboration.
After the pop-up, the collection will be released online on September 12.
The British Fashion Council Announces Nominees for 2023 Fashion Awards

The British Fashion Council is gearing up once again to celebrate some of the best fashion talent the UK has to offer with the announcement of its 2023 Fashion Awards nominees.
Celebrating both established and emerging talent, the award categories include: Model of the Year, British Menswear Designer, British Womenswear Designer, New Establishment Menswear and New Establishment Womenswear.
For British Menswear Designer of the Year, the nominees include Grace Wales Bonner, Kiko Kostadinov, Kim Jones, Martine Rose and Steven Stokey-Daley. For British Womenswear Designer of the Year, Erdem Moralıoğlu, Maximilian Davis, Nensi Dojoka, ROKSANDA and Simone Rocha enter the fold.
The 2023 Fashion Awards will occur on December 4 at the Royal Albert Hall. Check out the full list of nominees here.
Stone Island Shows Archival Exhibition at Frieze Seoul

On September 5, Stone Island opened its archival exhibition titled, Selected Works_Seoul‘982-‘023: The Stone Island Archive, at Frieze Seoul.
Impressively, the exhibition marks Stone Island’s largest installation in Asia to date – featuring over 70 signature pieces throughout its entire 41-year history. Across the array of pieces that span for decades, the exhibition focuses on key groups like the Pure Metal Shell jackets, Prototype Research_Series and the brand’s experimentation with reflective fabrics and Ice Jackets.

MF DOOM x Supreme Fall 2023 Collaboration

Supreme has officially unveiled its MF DOOM collaboration for the Fall 2023 season.
To bring the collaboration to life, the streetwear brand worked with the estate of MF DOOM. Included in the special offering is a hooded sweatshirt, T-shirt and a beanie complete with details like MF DOOM images, a handstyle motif and a handwritten note.
The MF DOOM x Supreme Fall 2023 collaboration launched globally on September 7 in the United States and will launch on September 9 in Japan and Seoul.
