Parmigiani Fleurier Reveals a One-Of-A-Kind L’Armoriale Pocket Watch
Every year on December 2, Parmigiani Fleurier dedicates a special and exquisitely crafted timepiece to celebrate its founder, Michel Parmigiani’s birthday. This year, the Maison unveiled the L’Armoriale pocket watch, a stunning and truly unique piece inspired by the mesmerizing flooring of Palazzo Te in Mantua, Italy.
Housed in an 18-carat white gold case, the cover of the L’Armoriale is attired with a vibrantly-colored, and intricate Grand Feu enamel work from Vanessa Lecci, who has previously worked with the Maison on projects such as the 25th Anniversary La Rose Carrée pocket watch. Accompanying the pocket watch is a matching white gold chain, forged by master chain-maker Laurent Jolliet. Shaped by hand with utmost precision, the links boast also a design that echoes the pocket watch’s engraved motifs.
Inside the 58.2mm-wide pocket watch frames another demonstration of artisanal masstery. The mordant brown dial showcases a mezzo vibrato pattern, adorned with four white gold subcounters, skeleton hands, and applied indices, all encircled with a delicately engraved chapter ring.
At the heart of the L’Armoriale resides the PF993, restored from a A. Golay Leresche & Fils mechanical movement from 1890. The manual-winding caliber is equipped to power the minute repeater, chronograph, and perpetual calendar complications in addition to the essential hour, minutes, and small seconds indication.
