FamilyMart Showcases Latest ConvenienceWear Collection at Its Debut Runway Show

On November 30, FamilyMart hosted its inaugural ConvenienceWear runway show as part of this year’s Fami-FEST.

Founded in 2022 as a joint venture with FACETASM’s designer, Hiroshi Ochiai, the original FamilyMart clothing line is dedicated to offering colorful, everyday basics. In line with the clothing line’s ethos, the latest collection features a total of 80 looks rendered in a vibrant color palette. Particularly blue, white, and green – FamilyMart’s emblematic brand colors – permeate through the collection of wardrobe staples such as hoodies, T-shirts, jackets, and socks.

From its diverse cast of models which spanned a range of genders, ages, and sizes, a few familiar celebrity faces were spotted. This included actress Rikako Yagi from the Netflix original series, First Love; Shuntaro Yanagi from Alice in Borderland; renowned Japanese theater director and actor, Kotaro Yoshida; novelist and comedian, Naoki Matayoshi, and gravure idol, Rio Uchida.

The runway took place in Tokyo’s Yoyogi National Stadium, where the Second Gymnasium was transformed to evoke a fitting mood. At the center of the gymnasium, a circular shop was erected to resemble a FamilyMart’s convenience store. The inside of the shop is equipped with aisles of products, including a stand for its hot snacks, Famichiki to the store to life.
