Seiko's Prospex “Speedometer” Solar Speedtimer Chronograph Nods to Classic Blue Cars From the ‘60s
Seiko has unveiled the limited-edition Prospex “Speedometer” Solar Speedtimer Chronograph, a brand-new iteration of the Prospex model, as an exclusive release for the European market.
The watch borrows its retro and sporty design from Mediterranean blue classic cars that were prominently in vogue during the ‘60s. As a result, the watch’s design truly embodies the glamorous mood of going for a drive in that particular era. The dial sports a light blue hue that’s finished in a matte and retro look, while its three subdials and indexes are doused in black. Punctuating the bold contrasts of the watch face are orange accents, which are intended as nods to the Speedometer found in vintage car models.
Cased in a 39mm-wide stainless steel build, the limited-edition chronograph is complemented with a matching metal bracelet to complete its retro sporty appeal. It’s powered by the V192, a quartz solar caliber that can run continuously for 6 months when fully charged.
The Prospex “Speedometer” Solar Speedtimer Chronograph European Exclusive Limited Edition is available to pre-order now for £650 (approximately $825 USD) via Seiko’s official UK website.
