Teezo Touchdown Delivers Highly Anticipated Debut Album, 'How Do You Sleep At Night?'
Teezo Touchdown is truly in his own lane – and on How Do You Sleep At Night? he reminds us of this on each of the album’s 14 tracks. On his debut LP, the genre-bending-and-blurring Houston rapper takes listeners on a sonic, emotional voyage, infusing the experimental hip-hop album with rock and indie influences, as well as his audacious persona.
The 14-track album clocks in at just about 40 minutes, and sees features from Janelle Monáe on previously released single “You Thought” as well as Fousheé on “Sweet” and Isaiah Rusk on “Too Easy” and “I Don’t Think U C Me.” And no two songs sound the same. Touchdown leverages his ability to amalgamate genres and styles to evoke different emotions from listeners. While “UUHH” leans into vigorous punk guitar melodies, “Daddy Mama Drama” takes the form of a stripped-down ballad, and the album’s closer, “The Original Was Better”, sees the likes of electronic production influences.
