Glamorous racegoers arrived at Ascot in the sunshine today as they displayed their finest ensembles.

Arriving in all the colours of the rainbow including bright pinks and vibrant royal blues, fashionable attendees braved the UK’s heatwave to enjoy a day at the races in Berkshire.

As they sported their finest frocks and statement accessories, there were also some stylish headpieces on display from chic guests as they attended the September Racing Weekend.

On its final day, the event ‘presents two days of fantastic late summer Flat racing’, according to Ascot’s website. 

It added: ‘A relaxed and sociable atmosphere fills the racecourse, with racegoers catching up with friends and enjoying a picnic on the lawns whilst viewing thrilling action on the track.’

Fashion-forward revellers turned the racecourse into a sea of colour with their vibrant ensembles, summer prints and bold patterns.

Maxi dresses, eye-catching trouser suits and elegant jumpsuits were among the styles of choice this afternoon as the racegoers arrived.

It appeared pink was the order of business for many on the day, with several racegoers sporting bright fuchsia outfits.

Others made sure it was all about coordination, with many guests opting to match their glamorous dresses to their statement headpieces. 

It wasn’t just the ladies who put their best fashion foot forward; the men upped the style stakes as they sported smart suits and stylish blazers.

Today is set to be the hottest day of the year – with temperatures expected to reach highs of up to 33C (91.4F). 

It is the first time since 1911 that the UK’s maximum temperature has exceeded 30C (86F) for more than three days.

As the heatwave pushes into its sixth day, pubs are expecting to serve up to 50million pints and Tesco believes it will sell up to four million packs of ice cream and lollies.

Brighton could welcome 150,000 visitors today alone and another 100,000 are expected to visit Blackpool, with tens of thousands more heading to resorts such as Bournemouth and Great Yarmouth.

Sweltering temperatures of 33C (91.4F) could hit southern England this afternoon, just above the current 2023 record of 32.6C (90.68F) recorded in Wisley, Surrey, on Thursday.
