M&S’ Library of Scent range has £10 ‘long-lasting’ alternatives to Jo Malone candles
There’s nothing quite like that big pre-Christmas clean when everything is spotless and you can finally light that candle you’ve been saving just for the occasion. For most people, it's the time of year they want to splurge on a really special candle that’ll see them through the festive period, with Jo Malone’s Myrrh & Tonka Candle, £70 here, being the perfect Christmassy scent.
But with budgets being that extra bit tighter this time of year, we can’t always afford to splash out on something that, let's face it, we’re going to quite literally burn. Thankfully, savvy shoppers have discovered the perfect alternatives – and they’ll save you £60.
Marks and Spencer’sLibrary of Scent candle rangeis being praised for how long-lasting they smell and how well they burn, not to mention it seems plenty of its fragrances are the perfect alternative to some of Jo Malone’s best sellers – including the festive Myrrh & Tonka Candle, £70 here.
The M&S Frankincense & Myrrh Scented Candle, £10 here, has been labelled the ‘scent of Christmas ’ by reviews, with others calling it one of their ‘Christmas must haves’ and saying they buy it every year.
The candle is so popular it’s currently sold out, but we suspect it won’t be long before it has a restock due to demand. If you’re on a time crunch, though, ESPA also has a Frankincense and Myrrh Deluxe Candle, £39 here (was £65), which also has glowing reviews, with one saying: “Finally lit this candle today after buying it in the January sale – it is absolutely Christmas in a candle! Smells so festive and the scent is just at the right level, not overwhelming but definitely noticeable! I will definitely be buying one every year now.”
Alongside it’s festive Christmas scent, M&S’Library of Scents candle rangealso includes plenty of other fragrances, many of which are just like other best-selling Jo Malone candles. The Lime, Bergamot & Mandarin Scented Candle, £10 here, is said to be a perfect alternative to Jo Malone’s Lime, Basil & Mandarin candle, £56 here, whilst the Pomegranate Candle, £10 here, is just like Jo Malone’s popular Pomegranate Noir candle, £56 here.
As well as smelling amazing, the reviews have been raving about the quality of the candles, with one saying: “Lovely candle, the scent is amazing and the burn quality is fantastic.”
Others said: “Lovely, long-lasting candle with a gorgeous fragrance,” and: ““Very pleased with this candle. Attractive and burns well.”
Another said: “For the price (and compared to the price of a luxury candle with exactly the same scent), I do think it’s great value and certainly worth a purchase,” whilst someone else wrote: “A gorgeous smelling candle very reminiscent of a much more expensive brand.
At just £10, there’s no reason not to treat yourself to a gorgeous candle or two (or get one for every room), so now is the time to shop Marks and Spencer’sLibrary of Scent candle rangejust in time for Christmas
